October 2011—A Cool Breeze
A Cool Breeze lifestyle store will feature handcrafted designer clothing for men, women and children, handbags, jewelry, furniture and tableware.  Relocating from a prestigious Michigan Avenue address in Chicago, owners Jerry and Judy Adams were drawn to The SHOPS ambience and architecture. The eclectic nature of their collections allow the husband and wife team to indulge their passion for unique found objects. “We go by our heart,” Jerry Adams admits. “The most important thing in life is to pursue what you love.” Their original resort store located in
Harbor Springs, Michigan is a well-established tradition, based on a philosophy of treating each customer like part of their family. “Whether your budget is $10 or $10,000, you will leave a Cool Breeze knowing you have found something very special,” Judy Adams added. Opening in early October, A Cool Breeze will be located near Oliver Smith Jewelers.

My Fit Foods, a take-home concept offering fresh, healthy, pre-portioned meals and snacks to go is opening its first Arizona location at The SHOPS Gainey Village. The Houston-based company with over 33 locations in Texas is owned by personal trainer and certified nutritionist, Mario Mendias. My Fit Foods is on a mission to get people healthy, make people aware, and get their lives back,” he said.
To-go entrées like lean lemon turkey, Denyse's Killuh Chili, and a light mac and cheese called My Fit Mac range from around $6.75 to $10.25; however, they also offer a three week package called the My Fit Foods 21-day Challenge.  "The average client loses 6 to 12 pounds, and reports higher levels of energy after as little as three days on the program,” Mendias said. My Fit Foods will be located across from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, with plans for an early November opening. For more, visit www.myfitfoods.com.

In the Spirit of Giving - The SHOPS Support Local Food Banks

Scottsdale, AZ - The SHOPS Gainey Village is proud to announce its "Buy A Bird Program" benefitting St. Mary's Food Bank.

Back in 1999, St. Mary’s Food Bank, the first and largest food bank in the world, created the "Buy A Bird" program as a way to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings to families in need.

For $15, each donor will receive a 9” plush turkey doll along with a free taquito appetizer with every entrée purchased, courtesy of Camarones Restaurant & Cantina (formerly Gardunos). 100% of Buy a Bird proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank's efforts to feed the Valley’s hungry.

SHOP... DINE... RELAX... at The SHOPS Gainey Village in Scottsdale, Arizona

Welcome! For our first blog entry, we're sharing an article about our center published in Arizona Foothills Magazine's February 2009 issue.

The SHOPS Gainey Village
, near historic Gainey Ranch in is one of the Valley's favorite shopping and dining destinations. Composed primarily of specialty boutiques, this stylish outdoor shopping center also features fine dining at hot spots as well as great pop-in destinations like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Village Wine Cellar, and a foodie’s new favorite The Kitchen by Good Eats Grocer.

A one-time ranch, this location is now home to a rambling complex of shops and restaurants, all beautifully landscaped. The SHOPS Gainey Village provides both a lovely setting to stroll while soaking up the gorgeous weather this time of year, as well as an impressive collection of upscale, exclusive boutiques. There may not be a more impressive concentration of women’s clothing stores anywhere in Scottsdale.

Gifts, women’s apparel, home furnishings, and bath and beauty products can all be had. New additions to the SHOPS include the stylish Kiss Me Kate, and the upscale and affordable Carine’s Boutique. Independent boutique retailer Anastasia’s Bath, Body, Boudoir offers fine European lingerie and sumptuous bath and body products.

Tempting dining options include the new McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, American eateries Bloom or The Village Tavern, and a new twist on classic Mexican flavors from Camerone’s. Whether dining out or taking out, Pei Wei, Picazzo Pizza and Paradise Bakery & Café offer something to please everyone.

You'll enjoy browsing the manicured grounds almost as much as patronizing the shops. The SHOPS Gainey Village is located the southeast corner of Scottsdale and Doubletree Ranch Roads, one half-mile south of Shea Boulevard (8787 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85253).
