Coming Soon: Scottsdale Jean Company

Arizona’s largest independent retailer with over 80 brands of men’s and women’s designer jeans, tops and casual wear is relocating its vast North Scottsdale retail store to The SHOPS, with a Thursday, Feb. 9 grand opening. According to owner Steven Koeppel, “It was time for a new home for Scottsdale Jean Company, after more than six years at our current location. I searched everywhere for a prominent retail center that had the appropriate upscale image and tenants, convenient to both our existing and new clientele. As a destination retail establishment, our customers seek us out for our unbeatable selection and unparalleled customer service, featuring experts trained in finding the right size and style for any body type.”

The new 8,000 sq. ft. store features an upscale design, including the entire line of Kiehl’s skin, hair and body care products, a full sunglass shop, a customer lounge area and a children’s playroom. Serving Scottsdale for 14 years from their location at Pinnacle Peak and Pima Roads, del Adora opened its second Scottsdale store at The SHOPS in January 2012. Clients can choose from a large in-stock selection of the finest fabrics to give their bedrooms a one- of-a- kind look with accent pillows, down duvets, lamps, and accessories to complete their ensemble. Now Open: Cask 63 American Eatery & Wine Bar

This comfortably contemporary eatery opened in the former Bloom space in January 2012, offering eclectic American cuisine and a distinctive wine menu. Cask 63 is the collaborative effort of two renowned Valley restaurateurs, Jerry Tingle and Chef Brian Fierstein. According to Tingle, “It takes 31½ gallons of wine to fill a cask. So we multiplied that number by two – a toast to us, two business partners who share the same vision. We must have looked at 30 different locations and this spot offered it all: ideal visibility on Scottsdale Road , architecturally beautifully inside, and plenty of room for a dedicated lounge, plus opportunity to expand the outdoor seating and private dining room." www.cask63.com.

Other new additions to The SHOPS include A Cool Breeze, which offers handcrafted designer clothing for men, women and children, handbags, jewelry, furniture and tableware. In addition, My Fit Foods recently opened its first Arizona location, offering fresh, healthy, pre-portioned meals and snacks to take out or enjoy on site.

Kreiss recently moved its furniture showroom to a new location next to Oliver Smith Jewelers, in a move designed to reinvigorate its presence in Scottsdale . “The bones of the new space are clean and contemporary, spotlighting our newer Collections,” said Loren Kreiss, managing director. “Our Scottsdale showroom is now in keeping with our newest showrooms throughout the country, elegantly aligned with the Kreiss brand.”

Another mainstay at The SHOPS, Village Tavern expanded and upgraded its popular bar area by adding 74 seats on a new outdoor patio area featuring a fire pit, community table and sliding glass door to take advantage of Scottsdale ’s balmy temperatures and scenery. According to Paul Apana, general manager, “As our business thrives, the front patio expansion allows us to give back to our loyal patrons that continue to make Village Tavern a hub for entertaining.”
