In the Spirit of Giving - The SHOPS Support Local Food Banks

Scottsdale, AZ - The SHOPS Gainey Village is proud to announce its "Buy A Bird Program" benefitting St. Mary's Food Bank.

Back in 1999, St. Mary’s Food Bank, the first and largest food bank in the world, created the "Buy A Bird" program as a way to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings to families in need.

The SHOPS is providing a convenient point of sale for Sheriff Tex Turkington or Toni Can Can Birds during the month of November. For $15, each donor will receive a 9” plush turkey doll along with a free taquito appetizer with every entrĂ©e purchased, courtesy of Camarones Restaurant & Cantina (formerly Gardunos). 100% of Buy a Bird proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Food Bank's efforts to feed the Valley’s hungry.

Plush Bird Dolls will be available for sale at The SHOPS Gainey Village the month of November, from Sunday, November 1 through Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Camarones during operating hours: Sunday through Thursday from 11-9 pm, Friday and Saturday 11-10 pm. Tex and Toni Can Can Birds will also be available for purchase Saturday Nov. 7, 14 and 21 from 12-4 pm in front of Pei Wei in the common area.

The SHOPS Gainey Village is at the Southeast corner of Scottsdale and Doubletree Ranch Roads in Scottsdale, 8787 N. Scottsdale Road. Turkeys will be available for purchase at Camarones Restaurant & Cantina (formerly Garduno’s) for more, visit www.theSHOPSgaineyvillage.com or www.buyabird.org.
